Here it is. The first blog post of my website, and I am completely blanking on what to write. I know I just want it to be something magical and introspective with some real rolling-on-the-floor funny moments...not too hard to do, right?
Okay, so maybe that sounds easier than it is.
I love being at my peak health, and there is nothing healthier than the self-inflicted pressure of starting something new and having it be perfect.
Actually, why not just start with discussing that.
We all have something unconventional within us that drives us. That fills us with so much passion and inspires us every day. It gives us the fuel we need to work the next day, but also the break we need from the heavy work day as well--cooking, dancing, woodworking, literally anything. We want to spend our whole lives doing this one thing if we could, but we are too terrified to take the leap to do it professionally. Why? Well it could be because of the financial risk, the social mockery, or just our instilled self-doubt.
When the few brave ones take the first step, there is that vital moment of hesitation which becomes the turning point of our lives for either the better or the worse.
For myself, I love cooking. I can spend hours discussing food tips, cultural dishes, and the best pan to use for breakfast (nonstick for the easy cleanup, duh). However, I have a full time job devoted to a completely different field, and that's okay. That is still something I enjoy and can enjoy, but differently. For years, I spent everyday contemplating the possibility of starting a blog and sharing my passion with the world. I was scared of being vulnerable, being laughed at, and above all....of failing.
I would see other creators grow rapidly year after year, and every time I would think "that could've been me too". So, my dash of advice for today would be reshaping your 'what if it goes wrong' and 'what if I fail' thoughts to 'what if it goes right' and 'what if I succeed'.
That's what I'm trying to do with this at least. And if you are one of the brave ones who is hesitating, like I am, then let's make our choice together and leap.
Hopefully, this will be our best choice.
Amazing post!! I love the inspiration - keep going! :)
